EXCEPTIONALLY LOW MAINTENANCE
· The JCB Plexus filter cleans the hydraulic oil down to 1.5 microns, dramatically cutting down on dirt and condensation in the system. The oil also goes 5,000 hours between changes. Consequently, servicing intervals are increased, downtime is reduced and overall machine reliability enhanced.
· 500 hour engine oil and filter changes, twice as long as some machines, are achieved which reduce servicing requirements, inconvenience and downtime.
· In the unlikely event of a system malfunction, a built-in self-diagnostic facility enables rapid fault identification.

· No cab offers greater comfort. It’s a high quality steel cab mounted on 6 fluid filled resilient mountings which insulate against noise and vibration while minimizing movement when tracking over rough ground.
· With the fully adjustable suspension seat, short stroke servo levers and lightweight track controls, the operator will find the JS160 easy and comfortable to operate.
· Ventilation is exceptional with large opening door windows and a spring-assisted opening front window. Both the upper and lower front screens slide easily overhead to avoid damage and provide unobstructed visibility. High capacity heating and air conditioning provide total in-cab temperature control.
· The ’Cushion Control’ feature reduces shock to the operator as well as to the dipper and boom during excavator operations. This is in addition to standard ram end damping.

· The Isuzu turbocharged clean burn engine provides smooth, reliable performance. Its in-line, direct injection fuel system delivers long-term, high combustion efficiency for low fuel consumption.
· Automatic pre-heat glow plugs mean first-time starting whatever the climate. And with automatic warm-up, the engine avoids unnecessary wear during start-up in cold climates.
· Advanced Management System (AMS) constantly monitors operating functions for greater efficiency and provides four work modes to suit the task at hand.
o AUTO Mode - Automatically gives you maximum power, when you need it.
o ECONOMY Mode - Designed for maximum fuel efficiency in normal digging conditons.
o PRECISON Mode - Gives you more control and accuracy for fine work and grading.
o LIFTING Mode - Provides maximum power with controllability.
· An instant 10% power boost activates automatically when hard digging conditions arise; while fast ram speeds reduce cycle times.
SITE SUITABILITY
· The large, strong excavator boom and dipper provide a big reach and dig depth capability for this class of machine.
· The extra length of the LC (Long Carriage) or NLC (Narrow Long Carriage) undercarriages means increased stability, improved lift capacity and lower ground bearing pressure for soft work sites. Central track chain guides and underbelly guarding give added protection for arduous site conditions.
· Three travel speeds can be selected and the Auto shift feature instantly matches track speed to ground conditions to prevent track stall.
